Dr Saifee Rashiq

Dr Saifee Rashiq is Director of the Multidisciplinary Pain Clinic at the University of Alberta Hospitals and a Professor in its Faculty of Medicine. He obtained his medical degree from University of Nottingham before going on to complete anesthesia training at the University of Alberta. He was a Fellow in Pain Medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle, obtained a Master’s Degree in Clinical Epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health and recently completed a term as an Examiner in Pain Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
His clinical practice combines delivering anesthesia at the University of Alberta Hospitals and treating chronic pain patients in the Multidisciplinary Pain Centre, where his clinical interest is in medically and psychosocially complex patients and non-organic pain syndromes.
He and his wife have three teenaged children (who don’t take him particularly seriously) and he cycles to work when the weather is fine.
